Hong Kong: The City of Order

I still haven't gotten over how orderly the Hong Kong of today has become. From the horror stories I've heard from people who've been there, I've always had the impression of it as a very dirty, rude & noisy place, much like a very big fish market the size of a city. A place where you get yelled for nothing.

Well, I found that it has changed so much. It wasn't dirty. The people were super polite, including the street hawkers. But one thing that remained the same was the level of noise.

One of the first thing that you'd notice is that like in Japan, wherever you go, there's always an information guy standing right in the middle of everything.

And don't play play, this uncle can spiak the England.

Politeness was really the last thing I'd expected in Hong Kong. But politeness was right in the face everywhere. Even the road works were polite. The guy on the signboard even bows to you. How more polite can you get than that?

And the signboard had all the necessary info including contact number, start & completion dates. In Malaysia, roadwork signs only have four words - SLOW MEN AT WORK.

In fact, even the roads were polite.

Tankyu to you very the muchy.

Hai! Arigato gozaimasu!

The people were also very polite. They even line up for bus rides.

When you're in the line, you can be rest assured that you won't be potong-ed.

What the heck. Even the motorbikes on the streets were polite.

Good boys. Kuai Kuai cover up. Form a straight line & hold hands.
